HARD WORK PAYS OFF
Rising Boxing Star Kyle Davies Secures IBO European and Commonwealth Silver Titles With Dominant Victory
Kyle Davies, 24, has firmly established himself as one of Britain’s most exciting boxing prospects after a spectacular performance at Stoke’s iconic Kings Hall on Saturday night. In front of a roaring hometown crowd, the Stoke-born fighter captured both the IBO European Title and the Commonwealth Silver Title with a commanding fifth-round stoppage over the previously unbeaten Celtic champion Aaron Bird.
Davies’ journey began at 15 years old, when he travelled from Stoke to Northwich four times a week to train in the amateurs under respected coaches Joe Eccleston and Steve Bundy. For three years, he dedicated himself to the sport—covering countless miles, balancing school and training, and laying the foundation of the fighter he has become. After leaving the amateur ranks, he committed another three solid years to preparing for life as a professional boxer.
Though he had only seven amateur bouts, Davies still made his mark by earning a silver medal at the prestigious Haringey Box Cup, one of Europe’s largest and most competitive amateur tournaments.
Now a full-time professional, Davies trains and spars across the UK with some of the sport’s biggest names, regularly helping elite fighters prepare for major world title clashes. His own career has surged forward: with 11 professional bouts—and seven of those victories coming by knockout—Davies has earned a reputation for power, precision, and relentless drive.
Saturday night’s showdown with Aaron Bird was a defining moment. Bird entered the fight undefeated, with an impressive record and a growing reputation. But Davies’ performance was nothing short of dominant. After applying pressure from the opening round, he sent Bird to the canvas three times before the contest was finally waved off in the fifth round—another decisive finish before the final bell.
With this victory, Kyle Davies is now the IBO European Champion and Commonwealth Silver Champion, achievements that have earned him a top-20 world ranking and placed him firmly within the top 15 fighters in the UK in his division.
Outside the ring, Davies is known as one of boxing’s genuine “nice guys”—respected for his humility, professionalism, and strong connection to his hometown.
As his momentum continues to build, the future looks incredibly bright for Stoke’s rising star, Kyle Davies.
